Keeping The Light On
Posted on: 01/18/2021 02:24 PM

Has anyone see Gerry's new website. It has info on his new greatest hits cd which can be pre-ordered from Jan 27. It says there are five new songs in the list of twenty on the disc. I would say possibly four and a half because one of them is the long lost Norman. I asked Gerry in 2009 if he thought that Norman would ever be released and he said he didn't know! So here is the answer almost 12 years later.

No, I hadn't seen it. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll go look.

According to Jeff Larson, Gerry's album is due in March. Two CD's and a vinyl set on the way with new mixes and 5 new songs. Packaging is done up very well via Elan. "Norman" is indeed one of the new songs. Some of you will remember that Jeff recorded "Norman" back in 2002 for his "Fragile Sunrise" album. Gerry did backing vocals on that one. Otherwise, the only other recorded version of the song was via a July 1978 show in Los Angeles that was recorded by the King Biscuit Flower Hour. That full show was available about 10 years ago and is certainly a keeper of a concert if you can get your hands on it.

On the LA recording If I remember correctly Gerry announces Norman as "a new song that'll be on our next album"

That would have been Silent Letter. In keeping with the description the guys give that album "Silent Record" maybe Norman should be retitled "Silent Norman Song"
