New Year
Posted on: 01/01/2025 01:34 PM

I see Dewey is coming to my area this spring. Was wondering if anyone has been to a Gerryless show? How does Sister Golden Hair, Daisy Jane and the rest of Gerry’s songs sound without him? I always liked Dewey’s tunes the best but was wondering if it was worth the money to plunk down for “just” a Dewey show? If there’s anyone left out here on this site I’d sure like to hear a reasonable opinion. Thanks,DanC

Danny, I saw them here in Dallas November. They sounded amazing. Between Dewey and Andy, they do a wonderful job with Gerry's songs. Definitely worth plunking down the money. They sound as good as ever. And they do some different songs.

Thanks Kevin, you pretty much sealed the deal with your response. Now I must go just to hear the different songs. Plus the fact that you gave them the thumbs up. Now I can’t wait. Patience has never been one of my strong suits.😏

Thanks for the info Kevin. There are some nice new ones I’ve never heard live before, Nothing So Far and of course Cinammon Girl. And a couple I haven’t heard for quite a while, Old Man Took, Wind Wave and Ride On. I’ll let you know in March how it went.DanC

Hi all,

Enjoyed reading Kevin's comments. Over many years I commented here my hope that one day Dewey would release his own solo album because I just like his laid back style of story telling....but from memory Dewey said that he was just happy to let Gerry follow that path. At least I have my Gerry and Dan's solos.

I think of you all often. Take care.

Hooroo

Bluey.

Hey Bluey, great to hear from you. I had a feeling a few of the die hards were still checking in here on occasion. Maybe someday the blog may return to its former glory, who knows? I also love my Dan and Gerry solo stuff. And myself, like you and many others, would love to someday experience a Dewey solo project. I’m positive it would be excellent! Cheers to you,DanC

Thanks Dan. Yes I like to visit once in awhile and just browse around at old comments etc. Wonderful gathering of people like Steve Lowry, NancyH, etc....G'Day to you all.

Throughout my working life, firstly in journalism and then police, I met numerous personalities but meeting Dewey and Willie after a Sydney concert was memorable. Dewey was very natural, relaxed and we spoke for some time. Just hope the band tours Down Under before sunset.

Bluey
