40 years ago Alibi was released. It is one of my favorite albums, unfortunately it was a commercial flop in the US, only reaching 142 on the Billboard albums chart. However, it was a big hit in Italy where it reached number 2 driven by the hit single Survival, which peeked at number 4 in Italy. I think the reason it didn't catch on in the US was because it didn't get much airplay. You Could Have Been the One was release as the first single in the US, which got a little bit of airplay, enough to reach 114 on the Record World singles chart. Then Hangover was released as the second and last US single, which surprised me because I thought of it as a silly novelty song. I thought I Do Believe in You was the best song on the album and should have been a single. They didn't even release Survival in the US. Not the first time I thought a song should have been released and wasn't. Valentine is my favorite song on the album.
