S - Looking at my old Merriam-Webster dictionary for the word "canvas," it states: canvas (also canvass) noun: a strong cloth used esp. for making tents and sails. canvass (also canvas) verb: to go through (a district) or to go to (persons) to solicit votes or orders for goods or to determine public opinion or sentiment. Regarding "convertable," it refers me to "convertible" when I search online which I assume it means the latter is the correct spelling. I know I have seen the word spelled as "convertable." HERE IS AN EXAMPLE. It just goes to show that people spell words incorrectly so often that it can appear "correct." Also, according to the above link, "mechanics" can also be spelled as "mechanix." LOL We both learned something from these postings of ours!
