Trivia Question:

Why might someone think of the initials "FTD" when they see the car in Gerry's photo? In other words, what possible "correlation" might there be between the two?

Hint: the same correlation that they have with a dime minted during World War II (sort of).

Answer To Trivia Question:

The car shown in Gerry's photo is a MERCURY Monterey from the early-60s. Its coolest feature is its slide-down rear windshield which was unique in its day.

So what is the correlation of the car to the initials "FTD"? "FTD" stands for Florists' Transworld Delivery. As its symbol, they use the Greek god Mercury.

The correlation with the car and "FTD" to a dime minted during World War II is the fact that such a dime is known as a "Mercury dime". The dime's image isn't really that of the Greek god Mercury but actually an image of Lady Liberty who is wearing a Phrygian cap.
