America And The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

I found out a little while ago today that The Moody Blues will be one of the next 5 inductees into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. As a Moody Blues fan,I'm glad that they got in,and I hope I'll somehow be able to watch the ceremony on TV,but I'm still disappointed that the group,America,still hasn't at least been considered to be in there. Rappers and rap groups have gotten in,even though it's called the ROCK AND ROLL Hall Of Fame,so why hasn't a rock group like America even been considered yet? I know there's always the next time,but I think America's time should have happened already. Frustrated!
I'm glad I discovered America! :-)

The Rock & Roll HoF has an inconsistent record about who they let in. They leave out bands that were huge and had multiple hit singles and albums, and induct others with much thinner resumes.
Part of it is politics. I understand the Moody Blues actively lobbied to get into the hall for many years before finally being inducted. They deserved to be inducted years ago. Chicago was finally inducted a few years ago, after being eligible for more than 20 years! Why weren't they inducted their first year of eligibility?!?
Based on accomplishments, America certainly deserves to be in, but Dewey and Gerry won't play the political game of begging to get in. Three Dog Night is another even more obvious omission. Cory Wells said that Three Dog Night was snubbed because one of the hall's founders was angry at them because they did not sign with him back in the 60's when they were starting out, so they have in effect been unofficially banned.
