Sad to see his passing, but we are at the age where the personalities we grew up with are passing on. His work with Gerry was pretty good and probably deserved to get some airplay in the US; but he was stereotyped as a teeny bopper from his days on the Partridge Family, and he just could not overcome that in the US. Though he did enjoy some post-Partridge success overseas.
Not only did Gerry help with his solo album, but I understand he contributed backing vocals to America's Hideaway album.
Indeed it's sad to learn of David Cassidy's passing. He seemed like a nice guy in real life from what I've read. I have only one of his CDs. Haven't played it in many years.
Another connection to Gerry (and Dewey) was their recording of two songs co-written by David Cassidy's future wife and ex. Well, they became a married couple a few years after the duo released "Perspective" which had the two songs co-written by SUE SHIFRIN and Terry Britten. The songs are "We Got All Night" and "See How The Love Goes."
I remember reading that the fur coat Dewey's wearing on both the front and back cover (and sleeve) of "Hideaway" actually belonged to David Cassidy. It has me wondering where that coat is today.
