Went to the concert in Tyler last night. Great show. I hadn't seen America in a couple of years, so it was nice to see that they were still alive.
The energy they get from the new kids is really infectious. Gerry's banter was funny and, even if I had heard some of the jokes before, most people hadn't, and he really connected with the audience. His voice was a bit ragged at first, but rounded out. My wife pointed out that Dewey seemed to be a beat ahead of everyone most of the night with his vocals. But it was totally enjoyable. We took our 27-year-old daughter, who pointed out she was 40 years younger than the average age of the crowd. She had a great time. She grew up with most of those songs nonstop.
