Thank you, Clarissa! That's a nice compliment (about the encouragement).
We call cottage pie, "shepherd's pie" here! I first had it in Switzerland and loved it. I make it occasionally. The "Maryland Chicken" sounds good! When I was a little kid, we had a restaurant in the next town and they made the BEST fried chicken ever! I don't know what they breaded it in, but it was outstanding and I can't duplicate it! I think the restaurant used crumbled crown flakes! Doesn't fit my low-carb diet, however. Gotta slap my hand and stay away from such delicacies! I made a killer dessert last week: cheesecake with no crust! It was all sour cream, whipped cream and cream cheese with some sugar and Swiss vanilla! Wow!
Yes, I love the snow. But my body hurts all over tonight from pushing that wet, heavy stuff off the driveway and patio this morning! Will soak in a hot bath tonight!
While folding clothes, I was listening to America and "The Story of a Teenager" caught my attention, once again. I don't know who wrote the lyrics, Gerry or Dan.
"I was alone like the silence in the night
I had no home, no one close to hold me tight..."
"Everywhere I look I see your face
Every step I take seems out of place
You've got to be a man to run the race..."
Those are the lines that strike a chord in me. The last line especially makes me think. Life ain't easy and you've got to "buck up" as we would say in timber country, in order to make it through.
