New Member - Introducing Myself

Hi All
Just introducing myself as I just discovered this forum. Have been a fan of America since Horse With No Name was first on the charts! Been to their live shows 6 times, the most recent being the OC County Fair last Summer and they blew me away!
The improved live show is eons better than the previous ones and Dewey and Gerry and the new members never sounded better! I miss Woodsey but one can't go forever.
[PS: Am also a musician and formed an America Tribute Group 8 years ago. It was short lived but fun!]
I am now a solo singer-songwriter and greatly inspired by the music of my heroes! Looking forward to being part of this forum!
Keep on American'in

Welcome, Mark. Not much to talk about these days since the band can't tour. Once that huge box set comes out I am sure there will be some buzz on that.
I know jimnac said a lot is happening on Facebook and other social but I recently deleted Facebook and social media from my life. Too much wallowing in stupidity.
I suspect more and more people will do that, especially as Facebook buries its head in the sand on publishing hate speech.
I found this site a number of years ago and really appreciate what Steve Lowry has created. It's pretty comprehensive and he keeps it up to date. A real labor of love for the band and their music.
I live in Dallas and have seen America more than 50 times over the years. Great live energy. I have ticket to see them in the fall here in Dallas but I really doubt that will happen. The unfortunate Trump influence on our state government has covered us with a tragic layer of ignorance, and we are all paying for it now.

I hear you on Facebook Kevin--I've been off close to a month now, though I haven't deleted my account--just haven't logged in. Facebook and Twitter are pretty toxic these days. That being said, Jim Nakao IS right--most of the action and activity are on the Facebook pages. I was a regular contributor to several pages and I suspect I'll return eventually. This "fan page" here is still fun to browse, but its pretty low-key compared to Facebook. I think we'll see more activity here once the box set is out...

Welcome, Mark. What KevinS and SteveO said. Pretty low key here but for the most part very informative when the need arises. This has always been my place to learn of anything America or related items.DanC

Dan C--to those that still like to visit this site--I'm one of them--I'm sure we'll have lots to talk about once the big box set is out. It will be fun to compare notes for sure! There are some other things in the works as well, but lets get through this first :)

Hi All
Thanks for the heartfelt replies from all! There's something really special and different about a forum like this and perhaps others will follow suit and rejoin here or explore for first time. Having said that, maybe the Admins could run some notices that we're here.
