Sun 8 Dec 2019 Perth Concert Hall
Posted on: 12/08/2019 12:06 PM

I had less than three hours of sleep after the Saturday show, before we rose to catch a plane to Perth. I love aerial views and intended taking many photos of the interesting landscape but have to admit to dropping off to sleep between the first and the last photos.

The America set started at 9. Everyone was enthusiastic right from the start and pulled out all stops to to ensure this was a dynamic show to finish the tour.

Some highlights included Survival (I hope it stays in the set as it has been consistently good in the shows), Don’t Cross the River (great singing Ryland and the banjo is terrific), I Need You (beautiful harmonies), Lonely People, SGH and The Border.

Everyone contributed with great commitment and energy and the audience was very responsive. These are not only wonderful musicians and crew members but they are also good people. Thank you all for the way you enrich so many lives.

Every show would appear the same on paper, but having just been to seven, it is apparent that each venue is unique, each crowd responds differently, interaction between those on stage and those in the audience varies from night to night and there can be different vibes from one show to the next. The music is consistently good.

The time flies faster each night. This was the last show of the Australian tour, the last show of the year and the last show of the decade. We wish everyone a well-earned break after the warmly received 7 show tour.

Our trip was built around an “Ain’t the years gone by fast” celebration, you never know what’s around the corner, seize the moment and we love attending America shows. What a “fabulous ride” this has been.
