The Big Interview
Posted on: 11/28/2019 09:20 AM

Watched the wonderful interview last night on AXS channel. Dan Rather is a fine man and an even finer journalist. The guys didn’t offer much new info that we didn’t already know, but the intimacy and candor of these guys are always refreshing. They did a very nice job of giving their thoughts and props on Dan Peek also. After it was over my wife remarked to me that Gerry and Dewey are such “Down to Earth” guys and appreciative of their fans. Hope everyone had a chance to tune in. Plus as a bonus they showed the Soundstage show before the interview.DanC

Hi Dan, It was indeed a great interview! And for those of us that are diehards, there wasn't much that we didn't already know. Lots of love for Dan Peek on the show; did you catch the snippet of "Today's The Day" that was played coming out of one of the commercial breaks? Now THAT was very cool to hear. People have been asking about a link to the show--nothing out there yet, though I found a 90 second "preview" clip on Youtube that I shared on several Facebook pages. It was kind of odd seeing Dan Rather interviewing the guys but I thought he did a very credible job--he came prepared.

Hi Steve, nice hearing from you. I did not catch the snippet from Today’s The Day on the program. They usually have a rerun or two on these shows. I’ll have to watch it again and pay closer attention. Dan Rather has done a number of these interviews on AXS channel with various big name recording stars and at first I thought it was a strange combo but the more I saw of them the less odd it seemed. He’s awesome at it and he really comes off as naturally admiring the artists. He talked with Paul Stanley of KISS and Robert Plant besides Gerry and Dewey to name just a couple.DanC

Yeah there was a spot at one point in the show where they came out of a commercial with a few seconds of "Today's The Day." Really enjoyed hearing that as the guys don't even perform that song and haven't for years. I didn't even know much about this AXS channel, but I'll have to spend more time with it. I questioned why Dan Rather would do this kind of an interview, but he was up for the task. I'm gonna send you a PM so watch for that...
