"Thank You Lord"
Posted on: 01/18/2015 02:01 PM

I just noticed that Lorena Duqueza recently posted Dan's "Thank You Lord", off his "Doer Of The Word", on youtube.

I once told Dan that, of all his songs, it's my wife's favorite and it also holds a lot of meaning for me as well. An amazing album. "Brotherly Love" is another favorite.

I hope you enjoy this treasure as much as we do....

Hello Bluey! "Thank You Lord" has great lyrics. The video brought me a bit of summer "life" in the midst of winter gray. She did a great job. I listened to an interesting sermon awhile ago, explaining what God hoped to accomplish through the Incarnation of Jesus. The point that meant the most to me was that He wants to have relationship with us, not because we're cowered by His power, but because we love Him. Now I've heard this point many times before. But the speaker approached it from a different angle and it really grabbed ahold of me. So, I have to say, "Thank You Lord, for Who You are and for loving me so that I might choose to love You!"

Dan also wrote some great lyrics on "Brotherly Love." Recently I asked people to pray for me concerning a job I applied for. One long-time friend actually prayed that I would NOT get the job, because she felt it wasn't a good fit for me! I didn't get the job! Over the Holidays I had occasion to thank her for demonstrating "brotherly love," by seeking my best interests and not just parroting what I wanted at the moment!

Brotherly Love isn't always the way we think it should be.
