Good Evening KoG. Surprise! I had time and I took it, to watch this video. My horrific schedule today dematerialized, or this evening's segment of my horrific schedule today dematerialized! YES!

Sid Roth irritates me: His theatrics and the spooky music he uses. The supernatural isn't magic. It's supernatural. God isn't a magnician. He's God.

That aside, very interesting what could be coming. I've recently received some curious communications from my bank that have made me think about the good ole days when people kept their money in a shoebox under the bed! We're about there. And I kinda step outside myself and "disadmire" my personal financial situation from "afar." Despite efforts to get more income, I find myself going nowhere or in the wrong direction. In the last 2 weeks I've been asking God a lot of questions, not only about the personal, but about the "corporate" or larger picture.

There are always repercussions when we don't follow the Manufacturer's instructions. We're WIRED in a certain way. A car's gasoline tank is designed to hold X amount of gallons. When that tank is depleted, the motor won't run! That's the way it's made. Doesn't matter if it's a GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Subaru, Kia, etc. They're all CARS!

So I'll add this to the other thoughts that are buzzing around in my head. I received a big shock at the high school board meeting today. I can't even explain it. I've known it, but didn't have words to express it. Now I think the words are coming. It spells a very sad story for our young people.

Good Evening KoG! You're burying me! I'm not sure when I'll have time to watch numbers 3 and 4. But you make a good point about numbers 1 and 2 when you said, "The two taken together." So today I've been synthesizing the 2 messages and trying to come up with one cohesive message. Then I happened to catch a bit of the news. HELP, God!

S - There is another video that combines video #1 and #2, but it's another one of Rabbi Jonathan on Sid Roth's show. Roth is a lot less animated and there is a lot less of the "spooky music" and no ads until the last several minutes. IT IS FOUND HERE.

Morning KoG! Yes, this is much better. Mr. Roth still irritates me. I think I was ruined big-time in Switzerland, where pastors preach a well-researched message, straight forward, with no hype.

It's o.k. to come against evil - attacks, terrorism, whatever. But Israel's problem, America's problem is in melding together the enemy's attacks with God's judgments. If we lose that crucial dividing line and if we fail to place our responsibilities to God FIRST, then we lose - individually and corporately. Bad things happen. What portion of those bad things are God's warnings, given in love, to get us to crawl back up on His lap like the children we are, AND what portion of those bad things are directly from the enemy, designed to kill, steal and destroy? The difference is crucial and determines our response. Repentance (getting back on God's lap) must come first. Then, He will decide how the battle against the enemy is to be fought!

The point is made in this video that these harbingers are progressive. I don't know when God started counting! From the second video you posted, we can look at previous events and count those also. Where are we in this progression???

I'm glad they mentioned David Wilkerson. What a tragic loss for America. He heard and he spoke.

Hi S - I think the count started with the attack on 9/11 back in 2001 as Rabbi Jonathan pointed out. It was a "wake-up call" to America as stated in his videos. Remember that the stock market crashed by 600-something points because of the attack. Seven years later in 2008, the market crashed by 700-plus points, I believe it was. Seven years from that point would bring us to 2015. The next Shemitah runs from 9/25/14 to 9/13/15. Shemitah according to Rabbi Cahn is the bringing down of things or a collapse. Also, bad things tend to happen on the 29th of Elul as Cahn pointed out with numerous examples. The next Elul 29 falls on 9/13/15. The next Feast of Trumpets (also known as Rosh Hashanah) falls of 9/13/15. So, it looks like something BIG is going to happen on 9/13/15. Could it be the Rapture as well as a worldwide financial collapse? We shall see in less than 365 days from now. If it is the Rapture, that would be great news for the believer but extremely bad news for the non-believer. Something else to keep in mind is the fact that all of these latter things occur within the time period of the Four Blood Moons which is from 04/15/14 to 09/28/15.

Yes, KoG. You're probably right. I was considering all the previously mentioned dates from WWI and WWII. But America was growing in international prestige/power. We've been sliding downhill ever since, in my opinion. But 9/11 was certainly a wake-up call.

We're having a local wake-up call. BAD fire to the north of me, in the town of Weed. 75-100 structures have been damaged or lost, 1,000 are still threatened, people have been evacuated, including by helicopter! Good friends had to evacuate, including one back on chemo. Parts of a mill are on fire. Power was out here and is still out in Weed, due to the fire. Elementary school is apparently destroyed. High School damaged. It's dark now. So all air support has been called off until tomorrow morning. They've brought in air tankers, helicopters and every fire truck available. WINDS have been VERY high all day and continue this evening. They're from the south, so I'm quite safe. But Weed gets the worst south wind I ever saw. Several times while in junior college, I almost blew over up there!

Our other large fires continue getting larger, some structures have been destroyed, evacuations are still in force, roads are still closed. Cost has been astronomical!

S - I'm very sorry to hear the news about the fires in Weed and other nearby areas. Glad, however, to hear that rescues were successful for those who needed it. Interesting about the town name of "Weed." We have a Weed, New Mexico. It, too, is a small town. I guess some states just can't exist without a little Weed.

KoG, please pray. Over 150 homes were damaged or lost. People didn't have time to gather their belongings. Everything is so dry and the winds were and still are blowing with gusts up to 45 mph from the south. Catholic Church, parish hall and Presbyterian Church are gone. Elementary school sustained some damage. Elementary, high school and junior college are all closed today. No electricity in Weed. An unknown number of businesses damaged or destroyed. Parts of the mill were destroyed and it's an explosive situation there with the fire jumping about. I worked at a clothing/supply distribution center set up at a local church. People are coming in depressed and in tears. Some just moved into homes that are now cinders. My friend's home/neighborhood is o.k. but they aren't allowed in, except on foot. Apparently this was an arsonist. Grrrrrrrrrr. Some evacuation orders have been lifted, for outlying areas. Last night I made an emergency list. Am still adding to it. These people didn't have time to think. And this could easily happen here. Time to get prepared.

Morning, KoG. FIRE UPDATE: It's 65% contained, as of last night. People, my friend who's back on chemo, for example, still can't return home because the power is still off and so is the water. When they DO return, they will have to boil drinking water! That is unheard of here, because our water is extremely pure, as is our air - when we don't have smoke from forest fires! Our high school kids are collecting clothing for the 19 Weed high schoolers who lost their homes. You have to remember, these are small towns, with small schools. Our local church collection center has more than enough clothing - for now. They are extremely organized. Portable showers and kitchens are set up in Weed, near the college. I'd heard rumors they brought in a DC-10 from the Yosemite fire, to drop retardant Monday. That is true! I can't imagine that. But it was the fire retardant that saved what was saved. Otherwise, over 1,000 homes would have been lost. They brought in cadaver dogs yesterday. No missing persons reported. It's just a precaution. One looter was caught and the items returned. They're demolishing the wood chip piles at the mill with a bulldozer, so they can check for smoldering fires and put them out. I've taken food items to the collection center, twice. Will hopefully take more, if they're open over the weekend. I just learned that homes sprayed with retardant have to be scrubbed before people return. They're working on that now. People evacuated just outside the fire perimeter will be permitted to return home tomorrow and can sleep at home. Those inside the fire perimeter may return between the daylight hours of 7 to 7 only. Signs have been posted for people to be aware of building contractor scams. Also properties have been flagged, using a color system as to what kinds of inspections have taken place, so there's no duplication.

Until it hits close to home, you have NO idea how much goes into the recovery process. In looking at a map of the fire path, it was very narrow and long, jumping US Highway 97 and continuing to the north a fair distance. Obviously wind-driven. Please keep praying.

Good Morning KoG! Yes, please keep praying. My friend (on chemo) is back in her house, as of yesterday morning. No phone or internet service yet. So she called me on her cell after 8 p.m. It's very difficult to make sense out of what she says or why she/they did what they did. Some people don't think well during an emergency. People with "chemo brain" definitely do NOT think well during an emergency. And her very intelligent husband did no better. Or perhaps he simply gave in to keep the peace?

At any rate, their house in undamaged, only one small spot of retardant, no smoke smell inside and the roofers should be up on the roof now, trying to finish the job they began 2 weeks ago. If it hadn't been for a slight change of wind, they would've lost everything. The high school and most of their neighborhood were saved, due to that slight change of wind.

The fire is now 85% contained and I learned what that means: It's OUT, and they are 85% sure it will stay that way. The bulldozer is still combing through the chip piles at the mill, to uncover hot spots. The mayor and Citizen of the Year stayed in the fire zone to fight the fire. Both their houses were saved, but with garden hoses, they would've lost it all if it hadn't been for a CalFire crew who responded to their calls for help AND that slight change of wind direction! One of them was quoted as saying, "I'm not a religious man, but somebody was watching over us." Hmmmmmm.

I know personally of 2 attempts to get undeserved services, and all I can say is, "Shame on YOU!" Yesterday when I delivered breakfast muffins to the volunteers, an acquaintance was wandering through the clothes. As soon as he saw me, he split. Otherwise he KNEW he'd get into an uncomfortable conversation with me about why (when he earns over $80,000 a year) was he there??? Secondly, a grandma came to pick up her kids Thursday and was in a big hurry to get to the portable showers the Red Cross set up! No matter which parent those kids are with, they live MILES from the fire zone!

My emergency list is almost complete. I'm refining it, as the more I talk with my friend on chemo, the more I realize that I need to be real specific as to what to get and where to find it. I also feel I should move some things so that I can easily get to several items from the same location. I STILL may not have time in an emergency. But I'll do what I can NOW to ease the situation if it should occur.

This morning the wind has shifted and is blowing in some smoke from the forest fires to the north. I fell into shock last night when my friend described Thursday night's community meeting. I did REAL good, KoG and I said nothing, but I couldn't believe my ears! The mayor said, "We will rebuild and it will be better than before."

Morning KoG! Patty called me last night. She thought I had called her earlier, and left a message, but I hadn't. Phones still aren't working. They ring, but that's all. Anyhow, she's doing better. Is now able to get to the point and to string words and sentences together to express a cohesive thought. She again mentioned, "We're gonna rebuild and it's gonna be better than before," and all I could think was, "You don't know what he said, spiritually speaking!"

All I can think is II Chronicles 7:14 and how I can live that out. Recently I said that it's important to discern the difference between what God does and what the enemy does. Each requires a specific response. It's up to the people of God to respond II Chronicles 7:14 because the world is going to head in the Isaiah 9:10 direction every time. After spending sufficient time in the II Chronicles 7:14 mode, THEN we can rise up with God-revealed strategies and fight with great success! Take Jehoshaphat in II Chronicles 20:1-26, for example?

KoG, I hope I'm not responding to my own response here??? TeeHee. Last night I listened to a Bill Johnson sermon from September 14th, the day before the Weed fire. Very interesting timing, considering the topic: "Hope; the womb of legacy." I encourage you to listen to it. That fire was a harbinger, as far as I am concerned. But Bill's sermon is the flip-side. You can go to Bethel's website and sign in, listen for free. It does take a "free" subscription and you can only watch one video per week. This one was a REALLY important message, I feel.

Hi S - I did view the video about hope. Interesting, yes, that it was directly before the fire.

Is Weed a nearby town of your home town? If so, how far away is it? Odd how some homes were untouched by the fire while others were totally destroyed.

Good Evening KoG! Life has been most interesting for me these last 2 days. I am "blessed" with 2 new tires on my car. Ahem. I will NOT say any more at this point, because I'd like to end my day on a positive note??? The tire episode was NOT positive!

Made a Walmart run this morning. Difficult to see much of the destruction in Weed from I-5, going north. On the way home, I went through part of the town and then northeast out US Highway 97, maybe 2 miles. I was shocked at what I saw! The destruction is TOTAL, where there's destruction, and like you say, right next to it, everything's cool. There's a black community on the north side of Highway 97 and it was completely untouched; a miracle. It would've meant the loss of 2 more churches and probably 30-50 homes. From time to time, I attend one of the churches and know many of the people. Anyhow, they've got quite a nice park on the south side of the highway and trees were burned right up to the park and then, wham-o, beautiful green grass and kids playing at the skateboard park! Stark contrast. I also saw that if the fire had burned just 100-200 feet to the west, the whole town would've been lost! It appears there were 2 slight shifts in wind direction. The first blew the fire to the northeast. The second shifted it to the northwest - AFTER it passed the crucial point that would've sent the whole town into ruins. It SMELLS horrible! You could see huge holes where they had to take out burned power poles. The new ones were nearby. I couldn't tell how far to the north of Highway 97 the fire burned. At this point, I don't want to be a gawker. The people aren't on display. They've suffered enough.

I heard rumors at WalMart this morning that people might not be able to rebuild, because the lots are substandard size, by today's regulations. I should think it would be grandfathered in! Perhaps this is why the state department of emergency services has broken precedent and said they will reimburse the city 100% of the costs of temporary housing??? The Pilot gas station south of town was having issues today. The clerk I spoke with said she stayed with her parents during the fire. Their house was saved, but a cousin, up near my friend's house, lost everything. She's expecting a baby and lost all the shower gifts she'd received. I heard bits of stories about carpetbaggers. UGH. Anything to turn a buck, eh?

To answer your question, Weed is about 10 miles north of Mount Shasta, the town. The mountain, Mt. Shasta is kind of the hub. Weed is on the northwest side. Mount Shasta, the town, is on the southwest side. McCloud (where Konwakiton Glacier melted and made Mud Creek overflow its banks) is on the southeast side. Dunsmuir is due south of Mount Shasta, the town. The other towns are all about 10 miles from Mount Shasta, the town. We're ALL in heavily forested locations, Weed being the least forested. Still, there was a lot of heavy timber that burned.

I had an interesting night last night! Woke up with a vivid sermon in my mind (delivered by the Man Himself) on faith, coupled with a nifty phrase from a worship song I've never heard before. Hmmm. Wonder what's up. Anyhow, pondering it all was a good distraction from the tire episode. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Come Monday the fur's gonna fly, and I don't mean mine!

Well, S, did the fur fly? I assume it wasn't Rocky The Flying Squirrel's fur either.

That would be so unfair if people who lost their homes aren't permitted to rebuild on their "substandard" size lots. I bet they will be allowed to. It would be only right that they can.

Yep, the fur flew - and I survived. So did the boss. He's pretty upset, as he should be. The liability alone is petrifying. Unfortunately the shop boss called him yesterday at home, and ruined his day. So there was a big pow wow first thing this morning. The thing that really bugs both of us is that one of the men involved is a long-time employee. He didn't follow procedure; things fell through the cracks and I drove out of there with an improperly mounted wheel. I also emphasized the lack of integrity and their lack of respect towards me. Upshot is, I will get a free winter changeover if the snow flies and only the boss is allowed to touch my tires!

Besides that, it will be interesting to see how things move, concerning rebuilding in Weed. From an insurance point-of-view, as well as from the state's standpoint, allowing people to rebuild on substandard-sized lots is another disaster waiting to happen. However, people need to have a place to live. I pray they come to an equitable solution - one that is more farsighted than at present. I know one family who's moving back to Mount Shasta, after renting for the last 3 years in Weed. I don't know how damaged their house was in Weed, but they're done.

Glad you got things ironed out with your two new car tires and the improper mounting of one of them. I always have trouble with Walmart's automotive shop, but I continue to go back inspite of the problems. Two out of the last three times I went for an oil change, they overflowed the oil by a whole quart. The last time I went, I pointed out exactly where the full mark is on the dipstick just so they wouldn't overfill it like they had done the time before last. After they drove my car out of the bay after having changed the oil, I checked it before I drove home. Sure enough, the dude overfilled it!!! I got the service guy and showed him. I said, "Didn't we go over this just so this wouldn't happen?" His only reply was, "Sorry." Plus, they charged me an extra $1.50 for an oil filter charge. I know it's only a $1.50 but it's the point. I asked what the extra cost was for when a new oil filter is part of the total cost of the oil change. I was told it was because they didn't have my car's particular oil filter on their shelf, and they were required to go to the storage closet in another area of the shop to retrieve the one my car needed. I said that's not my problem. He wouldn't refund me the difference. I had to call for the assistant manager who agreed with me and apologized after giving me back the difference. I'm glad you were able to get satisfaction from your ordeal. It can be so frustrating.

Regarding the substandard-sized lots in Weed, what disaster is there if they rebuilt on them? Just curious.

Just discovered I misspelled magician at the top of the page!

Nevertheless, Good Morning KoG!

My dad taught me how to change the oil, filter, air filter, spark plugs and rotate the tires - many moons ago. On my first car, I was putting in too much oil and one lovely day, while driving 4 hours to Sacramento, my car quit - right in the middle of Interstate 5! Too much oil can cause serious issues. Perhaps WalMart would like to consider the liability if that happens to one of their customers??? Not only that, they're charging you for that extra quart of oil!

Another point to consider: Mount Shasta's population is 3,400. I checked yours: 34,000 plus. I reminded Randy yesterday that in a small town, reputation is very important because word of mouth is a well-greased machine! Everything is based on relationship here.

Which costs more to replace/repair - a vacant lot of land or land with a building on it and furnishings inside? In the long run, it pays to have bigger lots. The poor realtors don't get to make a killing. Too bad.

Given normal size lots, 50x150, probably two-thirds of the homes would've been lost. In addition, most of the homes that burned were very old mill houses - built by the lumber companies for their employees, completely out of wood. I've learned also, that houses that DID have insulation, it was SAWDUST! Many of them had asbestos insulation, which necessitates HAZMAT crews to remove.

And let's look at this from a population density point of view. High population density increases the danger to more lives. It also makes escape more difficult.

I don't know what an equitable solution is. Our towns up here are dying. We've seen a huge increase in population and building and we've been on the decline for many years. We've lost industries that employed hundreds of people. Tourism depends on weather. We had NO ski season last winter. The lake was so low, very few people were swimming or boating. Revenues are DOWN. Unemployment is HIGH. It's not a pretty picture.

Actually not, S. It was a set price for an oil change. Something like $28, for instance. So, I wasn't being charged for the extra oil that I didn't really need. That's what ticked me off about being charged the extra $1.50 for the oil filter. A new filter was already included in the set price.

I think it's great that your dad taught you how to do those things you mentioned. They're actually quite simple to do when taught as you know. And, yes, too much motor oil is not good as you learned. It's not a case of "more is better." It can blow out gaskets and seals because of too much pressure as I understand it. What did they say happened to your car when it quit in the middle of the interstate and what was the cost to repair it if you remember?

I still don't understand what the disaster would be in rebuilding on the substandard-sized lots. Please explain (again) exactly why in simple terms. I understand about a realtor making more money on bigger lots since they work on a percentage, but again what is the disaster?

Hmmm, KoG. I never thought about that. With money tight, I wish they'd charge per quart of oil, or let me buy my own oil. And filter AND air filter! I could get them in Oregon and at least save the sales tax! But they won't let me do that. They did let me buy my own serpentine belt once, and then they put it on. I didn't have the strength to do it myself or I would have. We pay $39.99 for oil & lube here. They check all the fluid receptacles supposedly. I have my doubts, because a couple of times I ran out of windshield washer fluid and they said I had a hole in the tank. Funny. It hasn't run out all year??? I'm thinkin' somebody's pullin' a fast one. Not anymore, 'cuzz I'm onto 'em.

I called my cousins in Sacramento. I was only an hour away and 3 hours from home. No cell phones in those days. It was 1982 perhaps? Anyhow, he brought all his tools and the car was fine by the time they arrived. I drove all the way to Sacramento and then back again with no problems. As I recall, because it was a long time ago, my dad said I was putting too much oil in the car. Grrrrrrr. He was the one who told me how much in the first place! I cut back a quart and the car never had any problems again. No permanent damage.

Perhaps I need to rephrase my thoughts? A BIGGER disaster in the making. Anytime people's homes burn or even timbered land, it's a disaster. But the financial loss and potential danger to human lives is greater with substandard-sized lots.
