I've been to Miami only once. I had the pleasure of eating at Robert DeNiro's restaurant in Miami - oops I can't remember the name. Avocados? Anyway, it is in the famous South Beach area. South Beach is the most over-the-top place I've been. Most cars were Mercedes. Most guys had slicked-back hair and wore flimsy (due to the warm weather) but expensive (do to the obsession with image) suits. Probably Italian suits, but worn by everyone - Latins, Italians, Africans, Caucasians. Most women were over-made-up, combed-up, and dressed-up. Lots of spiked heels. Lots of jewelry. Lots of people-watching. Lots of being looked-over by waiters, doormen, passersby. Lots of tipping. More tipping.
Don't get me wrong. I had a blast! The food was great. The people were attractive, in spite of being overdone. They're certainly interesting to look at.

Hmmmmm, maybe Gerry should have stayed at the hotel from the night before. The view sure was a lot better! It's only 30 miles between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale!
