Hi Everyone :)
I just voted Rich! How Dare they do this to our HWNN. I've loved this song since the first time I heard it on my transistor radio. I went out and bought the 45 and listened to it over and over, and then I bought the America Album and I have appreciated following America's Highway.
Yes Chaz I remember that song My Ding Aling song. LOL, now it deserves to be listed on this Stupidest Pop Lyrics of all Time!
Have a good day all! Nancyh

Stupidest lyrics? so much for the H.P.'s expertise at music criticism. Maybe they would have appreciated the song if the horse had had a name...like, Mr. Ed!

And that song: "They are coming to take me away
-ha ha hee hee to the funny farm where live is
simple and life is sweet".....................????
Hey Rich-I found out you can only vote once-but in a day or so
it will let you vote again....from the same computer.
I will go up to the university and vote also......Wolfy

Seems like no matter how many times you vote, Horse is "stuck" in 28th position. I have a feeling this is like an Afghanistan election. The results have already been determined. Very peculiar how no song has changed position yet.

Yes Cat, I am with you.
I'd like to compare the quality of America's first two albums and Here and Now and see what other group can sound so good 38 years from their first albums. Along with Holiday and Alibi, Here and Now are my favorites along with the first two.

Dave,
I'm happy to read that Alibi's one of your favorites... I totally agree with you. IMO is one of the most underrated America's album... Though in US reached only #142, in Italy (where I live) topped the charts for almost 2 years and had a huge success throughout Europe. My band uses to cover some America's songs during live shows and even nowadays, after some 30 years, people get crazy when they hear Survival's intro.
Great music is timeless...
'Cause it's time for another beer run or something that's equally true...

Freddy and Kevin,
Survival, Might be your love, Hangover and I do believe in you to me all could have been awesome - the whole album is great. I have a new friend of about three years who loves Springsteen and his America collection up to about three years ago consisted of the first album and History. I let him borrow Alibi and he was like "dude, this is better than the greatest hits - it's an amazing cd". He now owns Alibi, Homecoming and Here and Now. My cd now and I have cleaned it a lot of times gets stuck on I don't believe in miracles but I can't find the cd anywhere online. I have found a combo of silent letter and alibi - so I may have to buy the combo - but I have every cd and a lot of the compilations too. So I guess what's one more.
But Amazon only has vinyl. By the way of course I like all the albums but my second "hidden treasure" althought when it came out it hit #11 was Hideaway. Wrong singles on the CD too. Today's the day yeah and Amber was good but don't let it get you down and jet boy blue would have been much better selections and more reaching to the then FM and AM crowds. Dave
