Wow, thanks Rich F and Erin! There's a triple California play in Cerritos, Brooks and San Diego for October 1, 2 & 3! It sounds like we need to start a car pool for this America train.
Happy New Year, America, and happy 40th, too! :)
Susanne
An America set list is like finding the gems in a box of fine chocolates! :)
Counted 24 gems at the Thunder Valley show on 7/4/10!
But...(and here the whining begins)...I live in Canada and unfortunately Richmond, BC & Halifax, NS are at the opposite ends of our very large country.
Casino Rama??? It's just down the highway from me, and you haven't been there for almost two years now. Is it a possibility?
If not...I'll just inform my husband that we're going back to Humphrey's again in October (we rather like the climate in San Diego and this past year's experience there was so completely awesome!!!)
Opened up Venturahighway.com only to go on a roller coaster ride of emotions: first blissfull glee - they are coming to Austin!!! But wait, big drop down to distress, they are not at the Paramount, it's a different place. Okay, just need to check it out, but no web site connection - PANIC! Okay, you are internet literate, deep breathing, find it on google, ah, there it is, I can get there easily! Only ten minutes from downtown! Joyous Delight!! To the top of the hill, YEA! and then suddenly, drop down without any warning: Oh no, this place only holds 300?!? What are they thinking? This is AMERICA! Those tickets will be gone in seconds! Members get first pick of tickets before they go on sale to public. To be a "gold level" member you have to buy tickets to every show they have for the year! I'm committed, but not quite that much. Now anxiously waiting for the tickets to go on sale, checking the website every few hours. . . (you can tell the level of aggravation by the number of punctuation marks I used incorrectly!)

I've seen America twice at the New World Theater in Austin. It is a good news/bad news type thing though. Good news - we get to see America in Texas. Bad news - In the past there have always been two shows per night, which means a short set. On the other hand, as small as the theater is, it feels like a concert in your living room and I have never had problems getting tickets either. It could be because they are somewhat expensive. I have been in the 2nd or 3rd rows both time. Also, I don't believe they have ever had a meet and great at this venue-probably due to the two show thing.
I plan on attending. They only question now is whether I buy tickets for the whole family, or just my husband and myself. I look forward to meeting you at this show, seeing as we missed each other at the Paramount!
Hey there DanC, I hope there will be a show or 2 added near you soon. I've been hoping for to see a show coming to Seven Springs Ski Resort, but with the dates filling up for the winter, it doesn't look like they will make it here this year. Sooooo when I saw the show added for the Carnegie Library Music Hall, near Pittsburgh, PA this coming May 28th, I decided to go ahead and get tickets for this show. I have to keep looking at my email tickets and pinching myself that I really ordered these. My sister has agreed to go with me, I do believe she is becoming a bit Pink too. :) I will be looking forward to taking in this 40th year show Magic. Hmmm Mo by chance have you considered going to this show? It will be nice to see you or any of the other fans that will be going to this show there. Hopefully the weather will be a lot better than it is here now, we are in fullblown Winter cold and snowy mode. Have a good day all, take care and stay warm! Seeya, Nancyh :)

Nancy, I know what you mean, part of the fun is getting those tickets early so you can anticipate with glee!!! Winter cold and snowy mode has hit Texas as well! We have icy roads and school is canceled today! Yea!
Thanks Kimcabrina for the info on the Austin show. I will definitely be there if I can get tickets. I keep checking, but America is not even listed on their calendar yet. I guess they are just not as on the ball as Erin!
Remember that roller coaster ride I mentioned about the show in Austin? I guess I got back on it today. I sent an email asking why America tickets were not on sale on the website, and they answered me by saying it is their "black tie gala" and I would have to call for more information. YEA! I called. Tickets are still available. YEA! The ticket includes cocktails, gift bag, 3 course dinner, live auction and the show. Okay. (note my enthusiasm waning just a bit) And the price is only $500 per person. CRASH! Maybe if I go without my husband. . . wonderful romantic Valentines celebration alone with AMERICA? hmmmmm Oh Kimcabrina, are you still going to be there?
$500 per PERSON?!!!! ACK! Geez, up until I read this my biggest dilema was whether we were going to take the kids or not. I guess I'm going to have to pass on this one. My company is in the process of being merged into another one and until I know my future job status I can't spend that kind of money. Darn, I was really looking forward to it too. Are you still going?
Sorry Kimcabrina, I guess I won't meet you in Austin this time either! The black tie gala is just a bit outside my price range, although my sister says we could still drive down to Austin and stand outside to watch them get off the bus! It's not as stupid as you think, last time we were there we waited under the Congress Street bridge for hours just to see some bats fly out! Seeing Gerry and Dewey would be so much more fun!
At the NAMM show, rumor has it that AMERICA is planning some very important new changes to the current show's in 2010. In the past GERRY has been spotted at NAMM incognito. So as the shows begin rolling, keep us apprised as to the changes. Indeed AMERICA has reached a major milestone in their 40 year career. 2010 is commencing to be very big for AMERICA. The best is yet to come.
A big thanks to Erin, Gerry & Dewey!! It's thrilling to see the shows listed for Cerritos in the Orange County area & Humphreys in San Diego for later on this year. Sooooo Cool!
It's awesome to have some shows to look forward to later on. Psyched!
