That is just so,so sad to read. I knew Shasta had been ill. She was very supportive during my own treatment, giving me advice and strength through her words, even though she herself was struggling. Shasta was a true fan, contributing so much to this blog with her enthusiasm, knowledge, thoughts and humour.
Thank you King of Glass for letting us know.
Rest in Peace Shasta. Dan is with you. No more pain.
Love

I had met and talked to her on this messageboard before then, but my mother and I first met Shasta in person at the very first America concert we went to,at the Montbleu Resort And Casino in Lake Tahoe,Nevada,on May 24,2014. Her seat was at the table next to the table where we were, and she was real nice and friendly to us. The second time we met her was at the 2nd America concert my mother and I went to,at the California State Fair in Sacramento,California,on Jul.20,2014,and she remembered us from the first concert. Shasta was always real nice and friendly to me,both on this messageboard and in person. It's sad that she died. :-(
I'm glad I discovered America! :-)

One In A Million

One night, one in a million
Twilight, lastin' us through tomorrow
Nothing can come between us
That's what I wanna do

Today, there will be no competition
I think today might be
A one in a million for me
I've seen the sun drop below my roof line
I really think it might
Be a one in a million delight
All of my dreams go with you tonight

We'll walk down the roads of our impatience
And if one has to fall
He won't be too proud to call
Some doors I've closed just to reopen
And then sometimes I find
Everything wrong's turned to right
All of my dreams go with you tonight

One night, one in a million
Twilight, lastin' us through tomorrow
Nothing can come between us
That's what I want for you

Very sad to hear of Shasta’s passing. She was a major contributor to this Site. She responded kindly to a few of my Posts. May she find eternal peace. She will be missed.

i met shasta on this message board and we soon became friends. we exchanged e-messages regularly, and the topics of our conversations were far-ranging. she was an excellent writer whose composition revealed an author of intelligence, conviction, humor, warmth, and faith. music+food+history were just a few of her passions/areas of expertise.

when she became ill, she kept a group of friends apprised of the difficult journey she traveled. sometimes hopeful. sometimes sad.

it is my hope that her absolute faith in god is rewarded in a place among his kingdom. rest in peace, shasta.

KOG thank you for posting this memorial for Shasta. As you know, I was offline quite a bit this year but kept in touch with Shasta through emails. When I didn't hear for a while, I would know she was having a hard time but I just found out today she passed away. Much like with Derrick, when Brad passed suddenly she gave me so much support despite battling her own health problems. She had a loving, giving heart and she truly loved the Lord. I feel Blessed to have met her in person at the Tahoe concert Cacilie mentioned. May she now be at peace in God's Kingdom. She will always hold a special place in my heart and her words a special place on this forum. Rest in peace dear friend....

Joy

Hi Joy - It's so good to see your post here again.

I totally agree with everything you said about Shasta. She was truly a one-of-a-kind person. She had such a love for God that she voluntarily spent ten years of her earlier life doing mission work in Switzerland not because she belonged to a Christian denomination that required it but simply because she desired to. She was of a nondenominational Christian.

In Honor of Shasta's Memory, here is a Christmas song that I really like.

Merry Christmas to you Joy and to all of our fellow America fans!
