KOG - I see that Meat Loaf, due to obligations with Arista recorded the Blind Before I Stop (album) in 1986 and released "Special Girl" as a single in 1987. His version charted at 81 in the UK but not here in the States. America's version was released in 84 and reached 106 on Billboard's Bubbling Under and number 15 on its adult contemporary charts in October 1984. I liked both versions. I'd never heard Meat Loafs version until you posted this. Gerry's version is softer and ML had a more 80's background sound to it. I remember Bat Out of Hell his 1977 Album. Funny I believe it was derived as a musical, a futuristic rock version of Peter Pan. I OWN the Bat Out of Hell album and have other singles on itunes and Spotify.
