Dear Gerry, Dewey, the late Dan Peek, and all members of AMERICA going back to its formation ~ I've been contemplating writing this message for a while and as I found some time today I thought I'd go for it. 2017 was to be the year my hubby, Brad, and I sold our home, bought one in Ventura/Oxnard and started enjoying life to the fullest. With parents gone and children grown, it was finally time to go for life with gusto. All that changed on the morning of January 5th when Brad passed away suddenly at our home. We hear life can change in a minute, I can attest that it can. What starts out as a normal day can turn on a dime into what feel like a nightmare...yet it is real life. But life goes on...the sun comes up in the morning and the moon comes up at night. So why am I writing to you? Not for condolences or sympathy but rather to thank you for leaving me with memories. Because when those we love are physically gone, memories are what we are left with. My Mom, Dad and now Brad have transitioned to "the other side" whatever that may be (I think we all have our own beliefs). As I've been a fan since HWNN came out and been to concerts from the '70's up to just a few years ago, I have many memories. Thankfully, I was able to share my AMERICA concert experiences with my Mom in the '80's, my Dad in 2008 (a retired Army Colonel, he particularly liked "Sandman") and with Brad numerous times not to mention the many meet/greets we attended. Those were always cherished memories but they've taken on even more meaning now. Material mementos are nice but memories stay in our hearts forever and can never be taken away :) So thank you for the music. Thank you for the concerts. Thank you for the meet/greets. Thank you for the AMERICA friends I've made through the band with whom I've shared laughter, tears, stories, cell-certs and concerts. Most of all thank you for the memories I've been lucky enough to share with loved ones who are no longer here as they mean more than you'll ever know. Blessings and safe travels on the road.........Joy
