I have been listening to Dan's solo albums on my way to and from work. It had been years since I had listened to most of them. I have found them to be better than I remembered. Especially Bodden Town. It did not make that much of an impression on me when it first came out, it was ok, but not one of my favorites. Maybe my tastes have matured over the years, but I really like most of the songs on it. Guitar Man is still my favorite of Dan's later albums. It has a rawer feel to it (with the exception of his cover of Nashville Cats, which is still my least favorite track on the album). Guitar Man 2 is also very good. Too bad it is no longer available. It, along with his last album, All American Boy, were only available as downloads from Dan's website and were never released on CD or on other sites. I know All Things Are Possible was his biggest solo hit, but it was my least favorite of his CCM albums; I always thought Electro Voice was his best. But again, after listening to All Things a few times, my appreciation for it is rising. There are some really good pop songs on it, especially Ready For Love, which was the follow-up single to the title track. For some reason it did not catch on in the US, but it did in Canada - it reached number 7 on their AC chart. I guess I am mellowing in my old age and my musical tastes have changed at least a little.
