KoG, please pray. Over 150 homes were damaged or lost. People didn't have time to gather their belongings. Everything is so dry and the winds were and still are blowing with gusts up to 45 mph from the south. Catholic Church, parish hall and Presbyterian Church are gone. Elementary school sustained some damage. Elementary, high school and junior college are all closed today. No electricity in Weed. An unknown number of businesses damaged or destroyed. Parts of the mill were destroyed and it's an explosive situation there with the fire jumping about. I worked at a clothing/supply distribution center set up at a local church. People are coming in depressed and in tears. Some just moved into homes that are now cinders. My friend's home/neighborhood is o.k. but they aren't allowed in, except on foot. Apparently this was an arsonist. Grrrrrrrrrr. Some evacuation orders have been lifted, for outlying areas. Last night I made an emergency list. Am still adding to it. These people didn't have time to think. And this could easily happen here. Time to get prepared.
