Morning, Bluey. The loverly person behind me decided 7:30 was an excellent time to move one of their broken-down trucks that's come for repairs, about 20 feet from my bedroom window. Now, it's o.k. because I had to get up for work. But what isn't o.k. is that I was in a very sound sleep, dreaming I was wandering around a certain village in Switzerland, trying to find a parking space for the American car I'd taken over with me. So if I sound like an idiot this morning? Retirement. It's a good thing you HAVE that Jack Russell. He keeps you young, I'm sure. My German Shepherd didn't have as big of a vocabulary as I thought he did. He keyed in on tone of voice, mainly. Being German, he was VERY time-oriented and he would REMIND me of things I needed to do. However, he knew the expression, "Would you like..." You could say anything after those 3 words and he'd go ape. A great advantage of retirement, or seemingly forever crammed into the part-time workforce where I've found myself for years, is that you have time to think. I figure God has given me this time for a reason. So I'd better use it - wisely? Dunno sometimes. But you're not the least bit corny when you say you sense His breath on you. He's alive and well and very much cares about His children down here on planet earth. Lots of unpleasant things happen. The world is going to hell. We need to be about the business of making a difference while we have the gift of time. And when that time element has disappeared, we need to have lived our lives so that we don't fry for eternity, eh? The secret is in KNOWING Him, not in doing things. I'm in a position right now where I NEED to feel His touch. I NEED to hear His voice about situations. It takes time and determination to stop the busyness so we can hear and feel. Gotta stop the merry-go-round. As for the number of posts? I just noticed with shock that I'm over 1,000. Shall we have a contest? Naw. I ain't much into contests with others. Anybody who wants to compete against me had better go find a wall to compete with. You'll get more of a reaction.
