Tom, I seem to recall Dan being asked on his blog about America compilations that included some of his songs. I'm sure the 2006 2 CD [i]"The Definitive Pop Collection"[/i] was mentioned. Dan said that he was never consulted and didn't even know about most releases.
Sadly my immediate thought was....how did it get to this?

Around 1996, my wife and I went to see Ray Davies' (The Kinks) solo acoustic
[i]"An Evening With Ray Davies - The Storyteller"[/i] at Sydney's Seymour Center.
An amazing evening. During his life recollections with the audience, he mentioned that even after 30 years or so, he was still involved in bitter legal pursuits for long overdue royalties for his Kinks' songs.
