Nice Tribute / A Question for Tom Peek re "Light Of The World"

Hello bluey, It would be great if "Light of the World" could be re-released as a download. But, as applies to much of Dan's music it is not likely. I would love to re-release "Light of the World" and Dan's other CCM albums but we do not have the rights to the music. You would think that if a person wrote and performed a song, it would belong to that person... but in the weird world of music publishing the rights to the music is often in the hands of faceless companies who are un-willing or un-interested. To be fair though, the original publishing agreements provided the resources to record and publish the music. The whole subject is pretty murky. What bothers me is when I see songs I wrote for Dan like "Lighthouse", "Magnolia" and "Power and Glory" get re-released on compilation albums without my say (or remuneration) when I own the copyrights. roady
